Reverend Lourdhu Raju Madanu, Missionaries of Faith (affectionately referred to as Father Lou) was born on August 9, 1976 in Gemmapuram, Telangana State, India. After completing high school studies in 1992, Fr. Lourdhu joined the Clerical Congregation of the Missionaries of Faith, Holy Trinity Major Seminary at Nadipalli, under the Diocese of Eluru. At the Seminary, Fr. Lourdhu obtained a B. A. in Literature at Andhra University. He then attended the Institute of Philosophy and Theology at the
College of Vijnananilayam and was
ordained as a priest on December 9, 2002.
For the next ten years Fr. Lourdhu served in various ministries in different Diocese in India until coming to Newfoundland in August 2013 to the Diocese of Corner Brook and Labrador. He then served a two-month period of enculturation at Sacred Heart Parish in Curling before going to Labrador City as an Associate Pastor in October 2013. He remained there until the end of December and was then sent to Stephenville where he served as an Associate Pastor until December 9, 2014, when he went to Conche as Administrator of Sacred Heart Parish. Fr. Lourdhu remained there until June 28, 2017 before becoming Administrator of Our Lady of Lourdes and Our Lady of the Cape Parishes.
After five years of pastoral service at these parishes, Fr. Lourdhu answered the call once again and on August 1, 2022 took up Ministry in Florence, Wisconsin. After completion of a temporary pastoral ministry in the Diocese of Greenbay, Wisconsin, Fr. Lourdhu was assigned as parochial vicar at Saint William Catholic Church, Round Rock, effective July 3, 2023.
