2023 Lumen Gentium Honorees

You are the light of the world… your light must shine in the sight of all, so that,
seeing your good works, they may give the praise to your Father in heaven.

The Saint William community congratulates Maria Del Carmen Landaverde, parishioner of Saint William and ministry leader of the prayer group, Alianza Nueva y Eterna, on being named the 2023 Lumen Gentium honoree for our parish. The ceremony was held on June 21, 2023, at the Mayborn Center in Temple.
 
The Lumen Gentium Awards were inaugurated in 2004 by Bishop Gregory M. Aymond as a way to recognize Catholics who exemplified the spirit of the Vatican II document Lumen Gentium. In  2013, Bishop Joe S. Vásquez decreed that the awards be given every other year.
 
Congratulations, Maria Del Carmen, and thank you for your service to our Saint William Community.
